West Florida Flames U17 player Jessie Scarpa was named to the Peak Performers team by TopDrawerSoccer.com for her recent play at the PDA ECNL Showcase.  Scarpa helped her team with three goals and three assists that led to three wins. The UNC commit is the leading scorer in the U17 age group of the ECNL with 18 goals on the year in 25 matches.

The West Florida Flames U14 boys capped off an undefeated Memorial Day weekend of soccer with the Disney Shootout Championship. The Flames would score 15 goals in group play to advance to the Semifinals. A 1-0 win over Doral placed the boys in the final against the Wellington Waves. A back and forth match would leave the Flames on top with a 3-2 scoreline. Congratulations to the U14 boys.

The U10 Boys Gold team went undefeated in group play at the Disney Memorial Day Soccer Shootout. They cruised through the semi-final game with a shut out only to lose by a goal in the finals. The U10 boys only allowed 2 goals throughout the tournament and have reached the finals of the last three tournaments they have participated in. Congrats to the U10 Boys!

The U12 girls reached the Disney Memorial Day Soccer Shootout finals this past weekend. The girls went undefeated in group play. The semi-finals went to PK’s.  Goalkeeper Taylor Doiron stopped three goals to put the team into the finals.  Unfortunately the girls couldn’t keep the wins coming and lost in the finals. Congrats U12 girls!

Fresh off their Florida Cup Championship, the West Florida Flames U16 boys capture their second consecutive Florida Premier League Championship. The Flames topped TBU 3-1 in their final league match to finish top of the table and earn the berth in the NPL Champions Cup in Aurora, Colorado. Congratulations to the U16 boys on all their success this year.

West Florida Flames player Jesse Scarpa was recognized as the Gatorade Player of the Year for women’s soccer in Florida. Scarpa will be playing her college soccer at University of North Carolina following her upcoming season with the club. “I wasn’t really expecting the award”, stated Scarpa. “I am honored to be receiving this award. I want to thank my family, coaches, and teammates. Without these people, I wouldn’t be the player that I am.”

The West Florida Flames U17 boys had an excellent run in state cup to propel them to the finals. Short numbers through injury, the boys would ride a 2-1 win in the semifinals to the championship match. The Flames would drop a 1-0 game with the goal coming in the second overtime period on a penalty kick. Congratulations to the U17 boys on their fine run of form.

The West Florida Flames U11 girls won the NIKE Champions Cup this past weekend in Apopka, FL.  The girls were undefeated in the tournament and outscored their opponents 16-2 in route to the championship.  The tournament marked a great end to U11 team’s season.

The West Florida Flames U17 girls captured their third FYSA State Cup Championship today in Auburndale, FL. Three goals and a clean sheet against FC America would see the Flames lift the cup. Lauren Greene opened the scoring for the Flames in the first half. Second half insurance goals from Jordyn Turner and Jessie Scarpa would assure the girls would once again top the rest of Florida. Congratulations to the U17 girls.

The West Florida Flames U14 Boys finished an undefeated campaign at the Nike Champions Cup with a 2-0 victory in the final. The boys would score 14 goals and surrender a lone goal through the tournament. Congratulations to the U14 Flames.

The West Florida Flames U10 boys came from behind in two matches to go undefeated in group play and propel themselves into the tournament championship. Congratulations to the U10 Flames on reaching the Nike Champions Cup Final.

The U15 boys had an outstanding run of form at the Nike Champions Cup in Apoka, FL. After three straight shutouts to win the group, the boys would advance to the championship match. In the final, the Flames would drop a tough one and take the silver. Congratulations to the U15 boys.

After an exciting round of semifinal games at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex, two Flames teams will be playing tomorrow in the FYSA State Cup Championship match. The U17 boys advanced with a goal in the final second of the match to advance past TBU by a 2-1 margin and will be playing West Pines United at 11:00. Another matchup with TBU saw the U17 girls emerge victorious by a score a 2-0. The West Florida Flames continue their hunt for the FYSA State Cup Championship this weekend in Auburndale. The Flames U17 girls, as well as, the U17 and U18 boys have semifinal match ups today at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex. With a win, they will play in the final the following day. The West Florida Flames 96/97 Boys Blue team captured the U16 championship at the Palm Beach Cup. The boys left it late for a 2- 1 victory in their second game with a penalty kick in the final minute of the match. An undefeated run in group play saw them through to the finals and a 3-1 victory over the Boynton Beach Knights would claim the championship for the Flames. Congratulations to the 96/97 boys on a great tournament weekend!
