U16 Boys Second Straight FPL Championships
Fresh off their Florida Cup Championship, the West Florida Flames U16 boys capture their second consecutive Florida Premier League Championship. The Flames topped TBU 3-1 in their final league match to finish top of the table and earn the berth in the NPL Champions Cup in Aurora, Colorado. Congratulations to the U16 boys on all their success this year.
Scarpa Named Gatorade Player of the Year
West Florida Flames player Jesse Scarpa was recognized as the Gatorade Player of the Year for women’s soccer in Florida. Scarpa will be playing her college soccer at University of North Carolina following her upcoming season with the club. “I wasn’t really expecting the award”, stated Scarpa. “I am honored to be receiving this award. I want to thank my family, coaches, and teammates. Without these people, I wouldn’t be the player that I am.”
98/99 Boys Win Tournament
The West Florida Flames U14 Boys finished an undefeated campaign at the Nike Champions Cup with a 2-0 victory in the final. The boys would score 14 goals and surrender a lone goal through the tournament. Congratulations to the U14 Flames.
U10 Boys Reach Nike Champions Cup Finalists
The West Florida Flames U10 boys came from behind in two matches to go undefeated in group play and propel themselves into the tournament championship. Congratulations to the U10 Flames on reaching the Nike Champions Cup Final.
U15 Boys Advance to Finals
The U15 boys had an outstanding run of form at the Nike Champions Cup in Apoka, FL. After three straight shutouts to win the group, the boys would advance to the championship match. In the final, the Flames would drop a tough one and take the silver. Congratulations to the U15 boys.
U16 Boys Win Palm Beach Cup
The West Florida Flames 96/97 Boys Blue team captured the U16 championship at the Palm Beach Cup. The boys left it late for a 2- 1 victory in their second game with a penalty kick in the final minute of the match. An undefeated run in group play saw them through to the finals and a 3-1 victory over the Boynton Beach Knights would claim the championship for the Flames. Congratulations to the 96/97 boys on a great tournament weekend!
